Step 1: Assess Your Current State You cannot fix what you have not measured. Start with an honest assessment of your electrical system, your documentation, and your existing safety program. Where are the gaps?
Step 2: Perform an Arc Flash and Short-Circuit Study A proper engineering study calculates the incident energy at each piece of equipment and the available fault current. This is the foundation for labeling, PPE selection, and safe work practices.
Step 3: Label Your Equipment Every piece of equipment that may be worked on while energized should carry a clear label showing the hazard level, required PPE, and approach boundaries.
